The Pacific Red Cedar is a wild beast of a tree which grows more gnarled and knotted with age. These trees, when allowed to grow, become tangled spires rich with burls and personality.

These 5x7” prints offer a delicate little introduction to some of our favourite species of plants. They include a little information about the plant, based around what makes them special to us, their scientific name and their Hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ name. Hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ is the downriver (Greater Vancouver — Down Fraser River) dialect ofHalkomelem, the language group of various first nations in Southern BC.

They are letterpress printed on Mohawk Via, an FSC certified responsibly manufactured paper. They are printed deep into the page in a rich black ink and trimmed to size.
